The Northern Vietnamese rummy. Eat the discard or draw, build phỏm (three of a kind or three in a row of one suit), and after four rounds lay them down. The fewest points left wins; all your cards in phỏm is an instant “ù”! Virtual points only.

How to play

The dealer gets 10 cards and discards first; everyone else gets 9. On your turn, eat the previous player’s discard if it completes a phỏm with your cards, or draw from the stock, then discard one card.
A phỏm is 3–4 cards of one rank, or 3+ cards in a row of one suit (A is low: A-2-3 counts, Q-K-A does not). Eaten cards stay face up and must end in a phỏm, never two in the same one.
On your 4th card you lay down (hạ) your phỏm, may send (gửi) cards onto phỏm laid before yours, then make your last discard.
Points left: A = 1 … K = 13. Lowest wins; no phỏm at all is “móm” and ranks last. 2nd, 3rd and 4th give the winner 1, 2 and 3 points (móm 4); each eat moves 1 point (a last-round “chốt” 4).
Ù: ten cards that all fit in phỏm (one may be left over) win at once: everyone gives 5 points. The winner deals the next game.
