How to play
  • Pick one of your five squares (never a mandarin square) and a direction. Your stones are sown one per square.
  • If the next square has stones, pick them up and keep sowing. If it is a mandarin square, your turn ends.
  • If the next square is empty, capture every stone in the square after it, and keep capturing over each empty gap. Two empty squares in a row end your turn.
  • All five of your squares empty? Put one captured stone back on each. Short of stones, you borrow from your opponent and repay at the end.
  • When both mandarins are eaten, each side keeps the stones on its row. A pebble is 1 point, a mandarin 10.
